David Savage comes to COAST with a coaching background spanning 35 years. He is the varsity boys volleyball coach at Sage Creek High School.
David developed his program into a volleyball powerhouse, winning 5 league championships, 2 CIF titles, 1 State Championship, and has finished in the top 4 in the Open Division Championship over the last 6 years, including 2 runner-up finishes. His program has produced many talented collegiate athletes including, an MPSF All- American player Christian Janke, two of the top liberos in the country, Taylan Cook (CSUN) Matthew Oakley(Loyola), and several other collegiate athletes. At Sage Creek, David created an all inclusive program making zero cuts and building a volleyball culture that welcomes everyone. It is widely the most popular sport at Sage Creek High School.
David graduated and received his teaching credentials, and Masters Degree in Physical Education from San Diego State University. He has been teaching in the Carlsbad School District for 20 years and has been a Physical Education instructor at Sage Creek High school since 2014. David is married to Amanda Savage, a former D1 Volleyball player who also coaches at Sage Creek. They have two Children; Charlie Savage, 10, and Summer, 5. Charlie plays for COAST on the 13-1 and 12-1 teams.
