Quinn Barrett began his volleyball career at 11 years old in the Bay Area. He started his club career as a libero on the 14-1s at Mountain View Volleyball Club and transitioned to outside hitter in his 16s year where he remained for the rest of his career.
Similar to club, Quinn started as a libero at Leigh High School in San Jose, CA and transitioned to outside his junior and senior year. Throughout his tenure Leigh won their league three years in a row and made two CIF finals appearances. Quinn served as team captain his senior year where he was voted MVP of the league.
After high school Quinn continued volleyball and his education at the University of California, Santa Cruz. During his four years at UCSC he played for the NCAA team as an outside hitter while studying Business Management Economics. During his sophomore year, the Banana Slugs made it to the NCAA D3 National Championships where they fell just short of the championship title.
Quinn hopes to pass the torch of competitive passion for volleyball to the next generation. He emphasizes a positive learning environment that encourages players to be disciplined and develop their skills not only for themselves but for the betterment of the team.
In his pastime, Quinn continues to compete in volleyball mainly on the beach now. He also enjoys bouldering, hiking, cooking and reading.
