Since joining the team in 2008, Justin has been the driving force behind some of the club’s most successful squads. His impressive track record boasts medal runs at over 30 qualifiers, regional dominance in the age division, and top honors at the sport’s premier events, including two gold medal finishes at Triple Crown and two more at GJNC.
But it’s not just about the trophies—Justin’s athletes shine beyond the court. Most of his players have soared to Division 1 college volleyball, leaving a legacy that’s shaped Justin’s own journey as much as he’s shaped theirs. Talk about a win-win!
Born and raised in Cypress, CA, Justin traded sunny suburbia for San Diego to chase his dreams at SDSU. Graduating in 2006 with a B.A. in Social Science, he wasn’t ready to leave the game behind. Instead, he found a clever way to keep playing—hitting the courts at Mesa College and City College. At Mesa, he topped the charts in kills and aces, rocked a flawless 4.0 GPA, and ranked among California’s Top 10 Outside Hitters. Then at City, he flipped the script, returning to his setter roots to lead in assists and aces while starting every match.
When he’s not spiking volleyballs or coaching champs, Justin’s a whirlwind of creativity and curiosity. A self-proclaimed polymath, he teaches, tinkers, builds, researches, repairs, writes, cooks, and even tends a garden. But his MVP moments? They’re spent with his stunning wife—former COAST Coach Hailey Conde (née Marvin)—and their two adorable kids, Duke and Bella. Family, fun, and a passion for life!
