Sacramento. He played for the Cal State University Sacramento Men’s Club team for four years,
winning a National Club Championship in 1997.
Dave Proffitt’s club volleyball coaching experience began with a year with High Voltage
Volleyball Club and one year at Spike City Volleyball Club before moving to San Diego. Then,
Dave coached in both the 15s and 16s age groups at Solana Beach Volleyball Club and started
coaching at Epic VBC in 2004. Dave has coached both boys and girls teams in multiple age
divisions, but for the past two seasons he has been the head coach for the 18-1s at Epic.
In the high school ranks, Dave coached for four years at El Camino High School and then
one year at Bella Vista High School in Sacramento. Dave served as the Varsity Assistant coach

Championship as the Interim Head Coach. Dave also coached at Poway High School for three
seasons as the JV Head Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach. He was also the Varsity and JV
coach at Mira Mesa High School during the 2013 high school season.
Dave started his college coaching career at San Diego Mesa College in 2014, where he
served as the Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach for three seasons. In 2017 he became the
Head Coach at Cuyamaca College for two seasons before returning to SD Mesa College to take

It’s easy to recognize Dave. He’s the one who always has the biggest smile on his face.
