Colleen grew up in San Diego and went to the University of San Diego High School (USDHS) where she received honors for All Western League and All-CIF as a setter. She went on to play Division 1 volleyball at West Point (Patriot League), then transferred to Point Loma Nazarene University where she finished her bachelors in biology-chemistry in 2000. She began coaching in 1998 at USDHS, where she helped bring the Dons to 7 consecutive CIF championships, a San Diego section record. She has been coaching at COAST since 2001.
Colleen enjoys sharing her love of the sport with players eager to learn and work hard. She feels there is no greater joy as a coach than to see the “lights come on” for a player learning a specific skill, and to have a hand in equipping players for success in volleyball and in life.
In her time outside the gym, she enjoys beach volleyball, hiking, movies, creative projects, and especially her family. She is happily married to Bryce Schlosser whom she met while at West Point. They have two children: Caeden (son), and Tegan (daughter) and live in the La Costa/Encinitas area.
