COAST was developed in 1990 by a group of San Diego families and established the first permanent volleyball facility in Southern California. Over the next several decades, COAST has created a rich tradition of excellence and continues to remain a fixture in the Southern California volleyball community.
COAST VALUES
“COAST is a place to become the best you can be. To grow stronger and get better. A place to be led and a place to lead. A place to train, compete, connect, cut loose, and rise up. A place where process leads to performance, and kids become athletes.”
We take what we do seriously, as families dedicate time and resources to having their kids participate. But, we strongly believe that having COAST be a fun and happy place is equally as important to the success of each player and team. If players are having fun, they want to come to practice and give their all. With effort and commitment come progress and growth. Players are balanced and able to give emotionally to their teammates. COAST players, families and coaches enjoy the journey.
There is a warmth in the COAST gym and players and families consider it a home away from home.
We hold our players, coaches and families to the highest standards of sportsmanship.
Train kids in the technical skill of volleyball, teach competitive drive, sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, how to navigate adversity and failure. We take players at their current skill level (whatever that may be) and provide them with the knowledge, framework, training environment and atmosphere to improve their overall skill level. Win and lose with equal dignity.
We strive to provide technically sound training, develop a commitment to sportsmanship and foster a love for the game.
