Delaney Taylor
Delaney grew up playing club volleyball in Northern California and eventually followed in her mother’s footsteps as a collegiate volleyball alumni. Having coached various age groups over six club seasons, she brings a wealth of experience to her coaching role. Delaney’s playing career at the Division 1 level is impressive, as she set for different teams during her collegiate years at MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University) and Oregon State. She then transferred to SDSU (San Diego State University) where she played as an Aztec in 2018 and graduated the following year with a bachelor’s in Marketing.
Throughout her collegiate career, Delaney received several honorable mentions in various conferences, highlighting her skills and contributions to the teams she played for. Even after her college years, she continues to compete in sand volleyball, showcasing her enduring love for the game and commitment to staying active in the sport for the past 14 years.
As a coach, Delaney’s emphasis on learning mental toughness speaks to her understanding of the psychological aspects of sports. This focus includes helping players develop resilience, focus, and a positive mindset, crucial elements for success in competitive environments. Furthermore, her emphasis on what it means to be a leader and a good teammate suggests a holistic approach to player development. Delaney recognizes the importance of instilling qualities such as leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship in her players, not just as athletes but as individuals contributing to a team dynamic.
