Considered among the top teachers in the prep game, Luis Cuatok trained collegiate All-Americans Lexi Sun and Juliann Faucette, two athletes that ranked #1 and 2 among their recruiting classes. Lexi and Juliann went on to compete in a combined four NCAA DI Final Four appearances. As a club coach Luis’ teams have appeared in the Championships of USAV Nationals on three different occasions (13s, 14s and 16s).
Regarded as the hardest working coach in San Diego County, Luis was plucked out of the computer and software engineering industry 25 years ago. Luis went on to win San Diego CIF Open Championships at two different high schools and in 2001 was honored as the San Diego Section Coach of the Year. Luis then transitioned to the college game where he coached UCSD and helped the Triton’s to a DII conference title in 2003, when the team was ranked as high as 1st in the nation.
Despite having a background in digital science, Luis’ coaching philosophy draws from sports such as basketball, football, and the research of the top sports psychologists in the industry.
Luis is a UCSD and San Dieguito HS alum who loves to travel and spend time with his wife. Luis continues to serve as COAST’s Master Coach and Assistant Director.
