Originally from Brazil, Rodrigo’s passion for volleyball started when he was a young kid watching his older siblings playing in club. He played from 10 to 17 years old in club and another four years for Santana University as a setter. After graduation, he played in Spain for 1 year, while receiving a Masters degree in Physical Education and Health. Rodrigo was for the past six years an assistant coach and strength & conditioning coach for a women’s professional team in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2015, they won the Brazil Cup, the championship among the eight best teams in Brazil. Besides that, he coached the women’s team at São Paulo University ‐ FEA for one year.
On the men’s side, Rodrigo coached the Brazilian U21 club team and in 2010 coached the Brazilian U19 team in preparation for the World Championship tournament.
