Pat Bonner is a San Diego native and has been a fixture in the volleyball community for
over thirty years. Over that time he has been a standout player at USDHS, an NCAA Division 1
setter for the Aztecs at SDSU, a collegiate official, successful coach, and Club Director.

Pat comes to COAST after spending the past 14 years as the Director of Coaches at Epic
Volleyball Club. Pat has had the pleasure of mentoring under legendary coaches Charlie Brande,
Brian Gimmillaro and many others. In 2008, Pat coached the SCVA High Performance team to a
Gold Medal in Austin, Texas.

Teams coached by Pat have gone on to achieve great success on the national level. Pat’s
teams have won bids to the Open level of Junior Nationals at qualifiers across the country,
including the SCVA qualifier, Far Westerns, Northern Lights, PNQ and NEQ. Few coaches show
his versatility, having been the Head Coach of qualified girls teams in 17, 16, 15 and 14 Open.
On the boys side, he has been the Head Coach for teams in the 18, 17, 16 and 15 Open.

Pat prides himself on choosing volleyball as a vehicle to support the youth of San Diego.
He has had a positive effect on the lives of countless players and families, helping over 200
players go on to play at the collegiate level.

Pat is looking forward to the opportunity presented to him at COAST and is currently
running camps, doing private lessons and getting fully acclimated to the COAST family. In his free
time, Pat enjoys spending time with his family and his Australian Shepherd puppy, Shadow.
