Traci Weiss brings over two decades of coaching experience to the COAST Volleyball community, where she leads the 15 Regional 3 team. Known for her deep commitment to player development and team culture, Traci creates a positive and enriching environment where athletes are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive—both as volleyball players and as people.
A former Division I setter at Illinois State University, Traci’s playing career began at the elite Sports Performance Volleyball Club in Chicago. She was inducted into her high school’s athletic hall of fame in 2013 for her accomplishments as both a player and a coach. Traci’s coaching background spans high school, club, and collegiate levels—including roles at Oswego High School and North Central College in Naperville, IL. This is her second season coaching at COAST.
Traci has a particular passion for developing setters and building strong foundational skills in younger athletes. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes mental toughness, resilience, and a team-first mindset. She teaches athletes how a positive attitude and support for one another can lead to both individual breakthroughs and collective success.
With a professional background in leadership development and organizational culture, Traci brings a unique lens to the court—blending technical instruction with intentional focus on communication, emotional intelligence, and inclusion. Players often describe her as a fair but challenging coach who inspires confidence and growth in every athlete she mentors.
Above all, Traci hopes each player leaves her team not only with a greater love for volleyball, but with life skills that will serve them well beyond the season.
