Nichole Kurz
Nichole began her volleyball journey in 8th grade with Starlings Volleyball Clubs, USA, under Coach Ken Rutan. She later played for the Epic 16-1 and 17-1 teams, coached by Luis Cuatok, before joining Coast for her 18’s year, competing on the Coast 18-1 team under Executive Director Ozhan Bahrambeygui. Nichole earned a full-ride scholarship to play Division 1 Women’s Volleyball at Northeastern University, as a Middle Blocker.
For the past decade, she has been coaching at Starlings Volleyball Clubs, Mission Trails, alongside her first coach, Ken Rutan. Nichole loves the sport of volleyball and still enjoys playing beach volleyball, especially with her little sister. She values the friendships and life lessons that the sport has taught her. She is eager to share her knowledge, experience, and passion for the sport with her players.
Outside of volleyball, Nichole works full-time as a Senior Human Resources Generalist at a mid-sized tech company in San Diego, CA. When she’s not working or coaching, she loves spending time with family and friends, exercising, beach volleyball, and traveling.
