Originally from Southern California, Coach Izzy developed a love for volleyball early in her life, competing at the highest levels throughout her club career. She played for COAST Volleyball, where she helped her team secure multiple Junior Olympic Qualifier victories and consistently competed at the Open Junior Olympics.
Izzy’s collegiate journey began at the University of Portland and later continued at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), a Power 5 program in the SEC. As a 6-rotation undersized outside hitter, Izzy thrived on the court despite undergoing five knee surgeries during her college years. Her perseverance and determination led to a stellar collegiate career, and she now brings that same drive to coaching.
Izzy’s coaching philosophy centers on accountability, hard work, and personal growth both on and off the court. She believes that volleyball teaches invaluable life skills, such as teamwork, discipline, and mental resilience, which players can carry with them into their futures. Drawing from her experiences with some of the top coaches in the country, Izzy combines their teachings with her own unique approach, aiming to maximize each player’s potential.
Off the court, Izzy holds a bachelor’s degree in General Business from Ole Miss and currently works in the aviation and aerospace industry in Carlsbad, California. Her ability to connect with her athletes goes beyond volleyball—she strives to be a mentor and support system for the young athletes she coaches, helping them become not only skilled athletes but also strong, well-rounded individuals.
