Austin McIntyre
Austin’s passion for volleyball started his freshman year of high school, in his home town of Simi Valley. He played 4 years for Simi Valley High School and Bones Volleyball Club until graduating in 2017. The next 3 years he continued his career in Ventura County at Moorpark College starting in 2018. Austin’s aspiration for coaching would begin while assisting the Women’s Volleyball team while he was a player at Moorpark College. Austin went on to transfer and play for The Master’s University during the 2021 season before returning to Moorpark College as an assistant coach in the summer of 2021.
Over the next 5 seasons Austin served as the team’s strength and conditioning coach, statistics analyst, and serve-receive coach. He was a part of many successful seasons for the Raiders, including a 2025 conference championship, two state quarterfinal and one state semi-final appearance. Beyond indoor volleyball, he also organized and head coached the Men’s Volleyball intramural beach program as well as directing dozens of local grass volleyball tournaments in the area.
Austin was a coach at Point West-118 Volleyball Club for 5 seasons, head coaching a boys team at every level from 14 through 18. He spent 2 seasons coaching JV Boys Volleyball at Moorpark High School and most recently assisted the Girl’s Volleyball program at his alma mater Simi Valley High School.
Austin recently moved from Simi Valley to San Diego with his girlfriend, Cierra. In his free time Austin enjoys competing in local volleyball tournaments, playing video games to catch up with friends, and spending quality time with his girlfriend exploring San Diego.
