Amanda Savage is the Sage Creek girls varsity volleyball coach for High School and coaches with the boys volleyball program at Sage. She has been coaching volleyball for 15 years at the club, high school and college levels. She has been with the volleyball program at Sage Creek since 2015.
In 2018, Amanda received San Diego section CIF Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year honors and the 2018 California State Girls Volleyball Coach of the Year Award.
Amanda has shared a fundamental role in the success of the Boys Volleyball program at Sage Creek. Her teams either Freshmen or JV, depending on the year, have dominated the competition at the Open level, year after year.
She credits her husband’s unquestionable dedication and cultural philosophy to the overall success of the teams at Sage. “Sage Creek is the most dominate boys volleyball program in San Diego. Amanda has coached 4 High School All- American Volleyball players including 3 libero of the year athletes.
Amanda was a D1 Full Scholarship Collegiate Athlete at University of Southern Mississippi. She played for Olympic Gold Medalist, Ricci Luyties, who is the Women’s Head Volleyball Coach at UCSD. She played middle blocker and outside hitter. Amanda grew up in Encinitas and was a 4 year Varsity volleyball player at San Dieguito Academy. She was a very dominant, driven and fiercely competitive athlete. Amanda is married to David Savage, Varsity Boys Volleyball Coach at Sage Creek. David and Amanda have two children, Charlie and Summer. Both Charlie and Summer play at COAST.
